Brotherhood

Writer's picture: hallforhallcountyshallforhallcountys

As law enforcement officers, it seems we spend more time at work than we do at home. We miss holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Our precincts, offices, and patrol cars become our second homes.....shouldn't that second home feel like a home?

The answer is yes. It should feel like family. We should be happy to come to work and excited to see our brothers and sisters. Our work places should be warm and welcoming.

What it shouldn't be is stale, sterile, and stressful. There shouldn't be toxicity and resentment.

Along with the many changes I plan to make, fostering a since of family and mentorship is one of the first. Embracing values that foster camaraderie, self worth, and fellowship. When that happens from the top down, the trickle effect makes its way out into the community and we all benefit from it.
